Scout Info

Ages 11-15yrs. Meet:  Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm

Scouts meet each week of school term & will do various activities like sailing, camping skills, swimming, canoeing, rock-climbing, cooking competitions and orienteering. There are usually several weekend camps every term. These include activities such as rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, surfing, canoeing, survival skills and various competition camps.

Our trained leaders help the Scouts to learn the skills needed to achieve a series of badges and to become leaders within the Scout troop. The badge award scheme gives our Scouts a knowledge of basic Scouting skills and marks achievements in areas such as citizenship, campcraft, air and water activities and improving the environment.

When you become a Scout you're accepting a challenge to plunge into adventure. You could find yourself exploring a mountain wilderness, abseiling down a rock face, helping in emergency rescues, going on survival courses, photographing wild animals, sending coded messages, hiking or climbing a mountain, canoeing down a river, camping out in the bush or sailing across the ocean.
